Over 71,000 spectators turned up in the heavy Milano rain, more than 2 hours before kick off, but Inter didn’t attack until an hour into the game as the Nerazzurri dropped 2 crucial points to a quick and strong Torino who played like a typical Mihajlovic team.
Samir Handanovic – 5: Yes his defence let Iago waltz in, but how many times have we seen this goal? Didn’t look confident even with little to do for most of the 90′.
Danilo D’Ambrosio-5: Tiredness or not, DD doesn’t make a lot of stupid mistakes recently. Today he did, both in defence and attack. Is he getting complacent?
Milan Skriniar – 7: First booking in 12 games. Bossed a difficult striker like Belotti. Booking was all Gagliardini’s fault. Even added a Messi like dribble in the end.
Joao Miranda – 5.5: What was he doing on the goal, kept backing off and got entangled in his own mess. Before that he was much calmer today, made Nagatomo play well.
Yuto Nagatomo – 6.5: Got all his crosses right. Defended brilliantly well. The only time he left his position we conceded. Vecino should have done better with the crosses.
Roberto Gagliardini – 6.5: Only 2 mistakes, 1 got Skriniar booked and arrived to late to stop Falque. Moved the ball well, won it in the right areas was driving forward quickly.
Matias Vecino – 7: Quietly challenging Skriniar to the title of the best signing of the summer. Quality midfielder, unfortunate that he didn’t score. Almost perfect.
Antonio Candreva – 6.5: Another great performance. Never misses a game. Put in great cross after cross, shame about the finishing to them. Did everything he could.
Borja Valero – 6: This was Borja’s worst performance before Gagliardini was brought off. He isn’t a trequarterista. Playing deeper he made everyone play better in midfield.
Ivan Perisic – 5: Maybe we need to launch a #WhereIsPerisic hashtag. Missing for most part of the 90 minutes. Turned up too late when he did. We need the old Ivan back.
Mauro Icardi – 5.5: Icardi just proved he was human. On another day he would have easily bagged another brace. Still managed to get a classy assist in the end.
Eder – 7: He got more minutes than the usual 3-4 today. Shots from distance were woeful, but strikers instinct was very much present and won us a point.
Marcelo Brozovic – 4.5: The last thing we needed at the moment he was brought on, was the crappy attitude. So naturally he brought the worst that he could find.
Luciano Spalletti – 3.5: Spalletti is a great tactician. It was clear to all that is wasn’t our day.We werent clinical and made changes too late. Brozovic subtitution was poor.
Daniele Orsato – 4: Few minutes added on. Too many yellow cards missed on both sides. Fell for Baselli’s diving to easily and too harsh on Borja Valero. Missed giving Rincon a red card.
Inter – 4: It took a goal to see some determination and composure. Didn’t keep the right balance before conceding. Great turnout didn’t deserve this.

this game is suited to mario so much. with high pressing opponent and deep defence, it’s important to keep the ball and play it patiently. mario have the right skill for this job, keeping the ball and distribute it with borja. unfortunately spaletti choosed to put the same squad, but he is the boss he know better than most of us.
Inter is the Serie A team which has used less starters so far :
Only 14.
Besides the usual 11 of the last 5 games only 3 more have ever started a game :
Dalbert, JM and Brozo.
The 6.5 to Gaglia I do not understand .
Considering also the fact that it was even his companions themselves ,in the field ,scolding him, screaming at him and looking at him like :
” What is this guy doing playing with us ?”
A couple of times tonight and a couple of times, same thing, during last game in Verona.
Just look at the face of a young player like Skriniar ,who is always supporting his companion in the field, looking at Gaglia with the “terror face” .. like :
” What’s wrong with you man?”
…after one of his passing mistakes that forced Skriniar to get the yellow card.
Last game in Verona it was D’Ambrosio to first scream at him and then walk up to him and tell him something in Italian like :
” YOU GOT TO be more precise with your passing man!”
I guarantee you nobody, ever, says anything like that to Vecino, Valero or Candreva…
Gaglia mistake forced Skriniar to get his first yellow with Inter, he usually very discipline. Gagliardini had a good first half, but his 2nd half performance was disaster. few players need to find consistency (D’ambrosio, Perisic, Icardi).
Yeah, i saw that dissappointed look from skrin to gagli. Idk, maybe he -gagli- has some issues with his stamina.
Between Skriniar ,Candreva and Vecino.
Valero didn’t look good in the first ,kind of out of place ,but then was maybe the best ball handler in the second..
I gave it to Skriniar.
Gagliardini to me was the worst.
yea gaglia has been bad in terms of attacking, i mean passing accuracy, speed of passing and positioning.. he really stop the attacking flow in my opinion.. however for defence wise he is quite okay.. but anyhow i agree that gaglia is the worst in this game together with perisic, well perisic might be gone in the game as well, but 3-4 of his passing are dangerous, its just that some other teammates wasnt able to maximize it..
Yes, he does the heavy defensive work ,but I think a 3 midfield ,in a 4-3-3 with the 3 “quality midfielders”
could hold defensively, while giving us a lot more game .
Gaglia to come in in the second half ,fresh.
I noticed that when he starts the game he always gets worse in the second half ,as if he starts losing concentration, while he does ok in the first half hour ,when he is fresh.
I was expecting this tie ,I am not surprised and Torino with the full line up will end up in the top 7 ,ahead of Milan ,Fiore and Atalanta.
And I am not depressed, nor I am worried ,as long as we get back right away to our winning ways and we do something to complete the roster on winter mercato.
I have no particular reason to criticize Spalletti now and I don’t think anyone seriously should .
The only one thing :
I personally would have given Karamoh a chance in the very last few minutes ,even thou Candreva had been our most creative player that far,he was also tired at the very end and a fresh Karamoh ..MAYBE (and then maybe not ) would have created some more dangers.
More generally I wouldn’t have started Gagliardini at all.
I would use him only in the second half ,fresh,to help defend a positive result, but as a starter I would try to find an alternative to Gaglia for now .
I want more quality than Gaglia in the middle.
i think spaletti tactics didnt worked good last night, miha read it well and really pressing back our defence, not sure what he wants our boys to do, but to me he should made a breakthrough earlier, replace gaglia earlier, i agree with the rating in this article for him.. nevertheless i still trust mr. spaletti
The same 5th for our line up.
I wish I knew how to tag you Suneet so you can see this comment, just stop doing these ratings mate !!
If there is someone to be blamed for this draw of today it is Icardi, stop riding his **** for fuck’s sake. He had at least 3 clear chances to score, one goal of his and we would have won the match. The whole match would have been different if we scored first.
Let someone who is more neutral do the ratings because u did the same last match as well, always justifying Icardi’s poor ass -_-
Praise him when he plays well, but stop finding reasons to justify him when he doesn’t do shit.
Spalleti wasn’t brave enough to subtitute icardi with eder.
I feel we should have seen Mario in place of Borja in the end as I feel he slowed our play at the end..
I’m feeling a bit disappointed that we don’t get to see Mario anymore. Hope he’ll be back strong soon. And how about Karamoh? Had an amazing impact and then aren’t seen anymore. I feel like Spaletti should include more of the squad (maybe not today)
Atleast Napoli dropped 2 points as well…
Good to see someone drop points but we are more in race with lazio and roma for that 4th spot and both of them have won like 5-6 matches in a row. I dont see Jube losing the title, they are so good at grinding out results.
Yeah, that is what worries me. There are 5 teams competing for 4 CL spots. Most of other years, 30 points would be enough to be comfortably in CL spots, but this year is crazy, 5 amazing teams. God damn Lazio needs to buzz off.
It is bad to wish injury on a player but I really do hope immobile lose his form or something as the moment he touches the ball, it finds the back of the net.
-Too harsh on Spalleti imo. Torino hardly got good chances of scoring beside that amazing dribble from Falque. It is not his fault that his main striker forgot his shooting boots in home and his midfield dont know how to shoot from distance.
– Vecino is excellent player but he was poor today, beside his shot he did nothing to boss that midfield as he normally do.
Interesting fact: Inter midfield scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists which is not even equal to perisic numbers. More interestingly, 3 out of 4 assists came from Mario who is missing from a month or so.
These stats are very poor for any team aspiring for scudetto or doing well in Cl. Aussilo, I am referring to you.
I agree, Spalletti’s setup was as usual and was good enough to beat them. Not his fault if Icardi had an incredibly poor performance and wasted 4 or 5 chances that could’ve been goals.
well when he sees icardi not doing good shouldnt he think other alternatives and responded earlier? thats how tactician shoud do right, so i still put the blame (a bit) to spaletti for this match, even though i also really disappointed with the missing chances by icardi..
We are vulnerable to concede from opponent long shot. I really hope next time all of our DMs should done better to avoid it because teams like Bologna and Torino already knew something to get result from us.
