Present at Wyscout Forum in London, former Fiorentina striker Nuno Gomes spoke about Inter duo Joao Mario and Gariel Barbosa’s (Gabigol) respective situations to CalcioMercato.com’s microphones: “Gabriel is a typical Brazilian player who has the potential to individually decide a game. He was hindered in Italy and has not been given a chance at Benfica, but his qualities are obvious. He must continue to work so he can show why he was considered to be so good.”
“Joao Mario? For me he is instrumental, technically he is very good, once you watch him you instantly realise he is a great player, he’s evolving tactically, but the system at Inter does not suit him. If Paris Saint Germain want him, something might happen.”
Rumours of Gabigol returning from loan at Benfica early and Joao Mario being offered in an exchange deal for Javier Pastore from PSG have been circulating recently and both of their futures with Inter are unknown but they still have time to change things if they truly wish to.
“Gabigol dream” is over. Our chance to avoid losing another Coutinho is no longer relevant to this point.
Doesn’t PSG play the same 4-2-3-1 system as us? If so then he doesn’t fit in there either as he is best in a box to box role in a 4-3-3 system
I agree. Joao Mario is a great but he doen’t suit how we play. with Gabigol, i hope we don’t give away another coutinho (couldn’t make it in the first team gets loaned out then we sell him for cheap)
well in my opinion, cou is a different case, he’s like visible to everyone that he IS a talent even when he didn’t make first team (just because he’s too young and his style didn’t suit serie a), while in gabigol case here we are still wondering what is his true capability is (regarding his high price tag) XD
The difference is Coutinho absolutely beasted on loan at Espanyol.
