Antonio Candreva’s performance last night for Italy was under par in the eyes of Azzurri fans worldwide and the Italian media largely echoed fans views with their ratings which were published earlier today.

Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere della Sera both gave the Inter winger a 5/10 rating, Corriere dello Sport gave him a 5.5/10 rating and Tuttosport gave the 30-year-old a 6/10 rating.

Candreva was making his 53rd appearance for the Italian national team last night as Gian Piero Ventura’s Italy drew 0-0 with Sweden which in turn meant Italy would not be attending next year’s World Cup in Russia.

The former Lazio man has made 12 appearances for Inter this season and provided four assists and is one of few players to have started every single game. He joined Inter last year in a €22 million move and is under contract with the Nerazzurri through to 2020.
