Inter will need to look elsewhere for a central defender having missed out on Domagoj Vida. According to FCInterNews.it, the Croatian, who has come in to links with the Nerazzurri is on the verge of joining Turkish club Besiktas.

Vida’s contract with Dynamo Kyiv is up at the end of the year but he will join Besiktas on what has been described as a “multi-year contract” by FCInterNews.it in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 28-year-old first attracted interest from Inter in the summer as the Nerazzurri were on the lookout for a central defender due to lack of depth. In the end however, Inter pursued other targets including Shkodran Mustafi and Eliaquim Mangala of Arsenal and Manchester City respectively.

Vida has been with the Ukranian side since 2014 and has also represented Dinamo Zagreb and NK Osijek in his homeland as well as Bayer Leverkusen.
