Journalist Mario Sconcerti has labelled Inter as the best team in Serie A currently, despite the fact that Inter are not leading the way at the top of the table.
“At the moment Inter are the best team. They are a simple team who score lots and concede few,” Sconcerti wrote in his weekly column for Corriere della Sera.
Sconcerti was quick to point out though that just because the Nerazzurri are the best in his eyes at the moment they are by no means perfect and he also wrote on one of the imperfections.
“They have one drawback however, their midfield do not score enough. If you look at the regular starters Roberto Gagliardini, Matias Vecino and Borja Valero there is just one goal between them.”
Inter have scored 28 goals across their 14 league games this season with club captain Mauro Icardi scoring 52% of them. Ivan Perisic is the Nerazzurri’s second highest goalscorer with four goals.
Guys, What do you think about Adrien Rabiot of PSG? Seems really good and still can develop into something big.
Hmm …don’t really understand this point of criticism: Gagliardini is mainly asked to defend and to keep Borja´s back plus to keep an eye on the left hand full back spot, when the fullback moves forward. While Vecino is a good passer and has great understanding with Borja when it comes to build up play. But his role is more that of a play maker than a true “all out-box to box” player. Vecino is meant to spread out play and Borja to find the space behind Icardi.
Icardi on the other hand only has one role – to be in the box and finish the moves off (more or less), and even Perisic is more of a striker today than he was with “defensive minded Mancini” – back then, he was an old fashion winger who wasted a lot of energy to chase players back in defense (as I said now Gagliardini is meant to cover for his full back and Perisic is more free to attack). So the fact that Icardi and Perisic scores a lot today is not a surprise but a consequence of the tactical moves made by the genius Spalletti!
True; getting an attacking midfielder like Pastore who knows how to pass the ball, attack spaces and SCORE would be an upgrade on Borja for sure and would be awesome!
Until he arrives I prefer Borja as our attacking mid than Brozo. Borja is great at keeping possession and helping in the building up face – something Brozo really struggles in. Brozovic often losses possession when he tries some smart ass-show off move in the middle of the pitch, which Borja never does.
On the other hand Brozo is deadly when finding himself in front of goal – something Borja really isn’t, and something Mario for sure is not!
But to break down smaller teams we need someone who knows how to keep the ball moving, to keep possession and has a great footballing brain as our attacking midfielder, not a man who always goes for goal when he sees it.
Absurd criticism from media who wants to destroy our balance in midfield. I want to say that our midfield is already doing a good job till now regardless how many goal they have made, and we need to change nothing until next season when we already compete in UCL and chasing for scudetto title.
well said..^^
thanks
This is worth to read.
thanks my friend
Shame pastore is too injury prone, otherwise he would be amazing player for us
Napoli still plays better then us really..but their team already blended from a few years..next year we would be very good
Valero and Vecino has already scored once.. So according to Sconcerti 1+1=1, or this is another poor translation
Buy Fekir !! (and Verdi as Candy’s heir)
Candy heir should be Chiesa!
I don’t think Chiesa could provide good crossing like Candy & Verdi although he shows high determination as team player.
last time I watched karamoh, he more than enough as candreva sub, or perisic sub. use our available resources first.
Yeah, he’s mysterious object right now. I’m looking forward to watch him playing as a starter
Brozovic seems like the answer here. He has 3 goals and is the best shooter in midfield. Will most likely start next week
Only need to be more consistent inside the pitch.
Yes he is our best shooter in midfield since both vecino/gaglia are defensive type and valero is a passer.
And for Joao Mario, he has skill but is the worst finisher.
I hope to use polymerization tu make a fusion between mario and brozovic. “Mario Brozovic”
IMO on his day, he’s on par with nainggolan.. however his consistency is borderline sh*t
Ive backed him forever even when in trouble because of his talent, he definitely is similar in style playing CAM to Radja and hopefully can work to be as consistent and effective. Hopefully Borja Valero, and his Croatia teamates (Modric & Rakitic) can influence to improve because he is only 24.
Actually I like Gagliadini shootings, eve though his shots are not accurate but he doesnt shoot birds.
Also I think Spalleti have order him to to defence more than to attack
At least Brozo doesn’t shoot like Guarin
