Roma defender Emerson Palmieri has distanced himself from reports stating interest in his services including from Inter and Premier League club Liverpool among others.

“I have a contract with Rome, I like hearing these things but I want to stay here in Rome as I am happy here.”

The naturalised Italian full back has spent the majority of the season out injured with a cruciate ligament injury but made the bench for the Giallorossi’s past three games.

“Of course I want to play but the coach is the one who decides whether I am ready or not. Roma has a big team, everyone feels like they should be starting.

“There are so many close games , it is important to have a large team.”

The former Santos and Palermo man is under contract with the capital club through to 2021 and enjoyed a huge growth spurt under now Inter manager Luciano Spalletti last season.
