After receiving the award for the best sport practitioner in the area of Liguria for 2017, Genoa’s 16-year old wonderkid Pietro Pellegri, gave an interview to Premium Sports about the award as well as who he looks up to.
“I am very proud of this award, but the road is still long” Pellegri began before moving on to discuss who or whom inspire him to improve saying that “in training I see champions like Miguel Veloso and Adel Taarabt. I try to copy something from them to improve myself. Apart from Genoa’s players, Mauro Icardi is the one I admire a lot, his movement is spectacular. He is a fantastic striker” Pellegri concluded.
The 16 year old Genoa prodigy has already scored two goals in six Serie A appearances this season and this past summer he was very close to signing for the Nerazzurri but the deal collapsed in the last minute.
