Turin based newspaper Tuttosport reports today that Inter have decided to sign Bologna’s winger Simone Verdi in order to reinforce Luciano Spalletti’s squad when the transfer window opens up in January.

Verdi, who is a product of the AC Milan youth system and has already made his debut for the Italian national team last October, and has so far this season scored four goals and made four assists in the Serie A. The Bologna player is an intriguing player that Inter’s owners Suning were already looking at this past summer when his value did not even reach up to €10 million but has doubled since then.

The Nerazzurri’s plan this January is to replicate the formula from last January when signing Roberto Gagliardini from Atalanta, who arrived on a two year loan with an redemption clause set at €20 million. Perhaps with the rapid rise of Nigerian born striker Orji Okwonkwo, the Emilia-Romagna outfit might loosen their grip on the Italian international right away or at the very latest in the summer of 2018.
