The second part of Wanda Icardi’s exclusive interview with Corriere dello Sport has been published and she discussed her husband’s infamous section of his autobiography among other things.

“It was the toughest time we have had since we have been at Inter,” she said on the autobiography section.

Wanda then discussed Inter’s current coach Luciano Spalletti, who took over in the summer and has kept Inter unbeaten this season in the league.

“I like Spalletti very much. He lets every player know their role and has a great personality. When you listen to him, you want to listen to him for a long time.”

Mauro Icardi’s form was finally rewarded with a call-up to the Argentine national team upon Jorge Sampaoli taking over and Wanda is of the opinion that the call up was a long time in coming.

“Mauro just had to be in the national team for a long time, but it is important that he is now part of the group. We are lucky to have the best in the world, Lionel Messi, and so many other strong strikers, but I always believed in him.

“I knew it [reports that Messi did not want Icardi in the team] was not true. He and Leo have a great relationship, and Mauro is proud to have him as a companion in Argentina.”
