Mandzukic & Howedes Could Miss Juventus-Inter

Mario Mandzukic and Benedikt Howedes are set to miss Juventus’ crucial clash with Napoli tonight through injury Tuttosport detail.

Both players are suffering from muscle injuries and the Bianconeri coaching staff have different levels of optimism regarding each player and when they may be able to return to action.

It is hoped that Mandzukic will be back to play against Olympiakos on Tuesday night in the Champions League, if not the game with Inter next weekend. In the past the 31-year-old has been known to have been risked when carrying an injury.

His availability would give Max Allegri a real boost in the striking department given Gonzalo Higuain is ruled out indefinitely as he recovers from surgery on a hand injury. Moreover, Juventus still have to play Roma before the winter break.

There is not however such optimism when it comes to Howedes and it is feared that the German central defender could be set for an extended period on the sidelines.
