Inter coach Luciano Spalletti and his colleague at Chievo Veron, Rolando Maran, have decided to field the following 22 players in today’s Serie A fixture at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, kick-off scheduled for 15.00 CET.
With Joao Miranda and Roberto Gagliardini suspended and Matias Vecino picking up an injury in last week’s fixture away against Cagliari, Spalletti has been forced to make three changes to the Nerazzurri team. Andrea Ranocchia makes his first start in 12 months replacing Miranda in the middle of defence, Marcelo Brozovic replaces Gagliardini whilst Joao Mario is back in the starting lineup instead of Vecino.

One of the best matches post tripleta era. Important that other players step in when they tight mark Icardi. I remember when we against roma, in the first half when valero as AMC roma dominate all the game and we hardly make a chance, but after valero switch position into MC we managed to control the midfield, create chances and finally win 3-1. Same story with torino, initially we lost 0-1 to torino but after spaletti put valero into MC, we dictate the midfield and create chances but it was to late we just score 1 goal and ended the game with draw 1-1, if we put valero as MC in the beginning we could win the match against torino and earn 3 points
I think today lineup J. Mario – Brozo – Borja/Vecino is a better formation in Midfield when face under class opponent still we need Gaglia when face top team. Gaglia really good to tackle and intercept the ball.
Couldn’t agree more. We need tmore rotation in the deeper midfield two as Joao Mario needs to get more looks in that role. I also think Karamoh could be another option for the trequartista role who could interplay well with the wingers and add a goal threat similar to Brozovic.

The midfield was just pure quality and control I would also like to see it against defensive teams but for Juve Borja, Brozo and Vecino provides more balance
Juve has a quality midfield which is also very physical. Playing Borja in a deeper role will result in a similar performance as the Torino game where he wasn’t able to coupe with the strong pressing high up the field which is what we can expect from Juventus.
I think we may need to go back to a Vecino-Gagliardini-Borja trio as need Vecino and Gagliardini in the middle to muscle it out while Borja further up ensures we retain more possession in Juve’s further third. Joao Mario and/or Brozovic can then come in later to add more creativity to the midfield once the tempo settles down more in the second half.

I’m happy I got to see Karamoh. He was a live wire, sure, but didn’t do anything special. Tired legs played their part. However, lots of potential, calm, composed, nice first touch. Baby steps, sure, but continue to show belief in him. And try & do the same with Pinamonti.
perisic, candreva, icardi, and skriniar are very good and top contender for MOTM.. but i have to mention rano, because he was solid in this game.. keep it up rano!!

Before I write my opinion, can I just say what the fuck was this game. Not overstating, we legit had 35-40 shots this game, more than 10 on target.
Our game was fantastic, we completelly and uterly demolished Chievo. Even with this scoreline, we could’ve had a few more goals, chances just kept and kept coming. The team played amazingly, hats off. Icardi continuing with the casual goal scoring. Perišič showing why we kept him, Candreva continoung his good performances in the last 2 months. Brozovič has been playing really really good lately. Škriniar just keeps on giving, it’s unbelievable. Hands down one of the best transfers we’ve made in the last few years, together with Icardi, Perišić and Handanović. We were missing 3 starters today and still demolished Chievo, the team is just performing so good right now. And hats off to our fans, 60-70k fans for a game against Chievo, that’s mental.
Combine this game with the shit Milan pulled off today, and it has been a fine day for the Nerrazzuri.

He is really good going forward but think he needs to improve in moving the ball around and he gets too committed to runs on the byline when getting out of defense and gets caught out some times. I think he needs to start cutting inside like we see Santon and Nagatomo do this season which will also help connect better with the general build up. But great prospect indeed!!!!
