Inter president Erick Thohir spoke on the goals for the Nerazzurri for the rest of season as the season approaches the half way mark.
“The season is still very long, we expect to remain focused on our goal. If we were to win the Scudetto it would be fantastic but the main goal remains qualification for the Champions League,” the Indonesian reiterated to Indonesian outlet Republika.
Thohir, who has held a stake in the Nerazzurri since late 2013, also heaped praise on Inter manager Luciano Spalletti, who has been one of the main reasons behind Inter’s successes this season.
“Spalletti has given Inter a great character. For several years this teams performances had been fluctuating, but thanks to the new coach the team are showing their true worth.”
Thohir concluded the interview by discussing Ivan Perisic who helped himself to a hat trick during Sunday’s 5-0 rout of Chievo Verona at San Siro.
“He played very well.”
