Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo previewed this Saturday’s Derby D’Italia.

“I think it is too early to say who will have the better season of the two. Saturday’s match is between two teams at the top end of the standings, who, alongside Napoli represent the best teams in Italy. I think that Inter must compete for the scudetto as much as they want a place in the Champions League,” Toldo explained to Passionedelcalcio.it.

The 46-year-old, who spent nine years on the Nerazzurri’s books between 2001-2010 and won everything possible, then heaped praise on Inter manager Luciano Spalletti.

“I repeat, although it may seem premature, Luciano Spalletti is a confirmation for Inter in my eyes. Certainly he has not surprised me with what he has done at the club, he is a confident man, who knows Italian football well and knows how to exploit the very strong players he has at his disposal.”
