Mauro Icardi or Gonzalo Higuain? A question is that is being asked a lot lately both in Italy AND Argentina as both players battle it out in Serie A and for a place at next years FIFA World Cup in Russia with Argentina. Icardi has been in scintillating form so far scoring 16 from his 15 games played in Serie A with Higuain on a tally of nine goals from 14 appearances.

Today, former Inter striker Hernan Crespo was called into the debate on Inter TV.

“Mauro is taking advantage of the work of his teammates, who now know how to find him almost to perfection. This is very important for a striker like him.”

The former Lazio and Parma striker, who knows a thing or two about scoring goals himself, then went on to speak about Higuain.

“I think after a few fantastic years in Naples and Turin, he seems to be in decline.”
