Felipe Melo looked back on his time with Inter in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I never thought that I arrived at Inter late like many said, I realised a dream [by joining Inter]. I could have stayed at Galatasaray, where I was an idol but that would have been an easy choice to just stay there,” he said.
He continued, “English clubs also wanted me, Arsenal in particular, but my desire was to go to Inter and only Inter.”
The Brazilian defensive midfielder then discussed the red card he picked up against Lazio while with Inter.
“It would be absurd to say that the successive difficulties arose from my sending off overall,” he insisted.
The 34-year-old spent just shy of 18 months on the Nerazzurri’s books between August 2015 and January 2017 and made 38 appearances in total during his short time at San Siro. Nowadays he is back in his home nation with Palmeiras.
