Both clubs involved in tonight’s Derby D’Italia have made their starting line-ups public with little under an hour to go until kick-off at the Allianz Stadium.
Inter were the first of the two sides to announce their lineup. The line-up sees a few changes from the side who started against Chievo. Miranda and Matias Vecino are both back while Marcelo Brozovic has been given the nod as the trequartista.

This Inter grinds and fights for the results, especially against the leagues big teams. It is hard to see how far this can take the team. But with a bit of luck this team can be fighting the top position come May. It depends so much on other teams performance also. Juve have more top class players, but this Inter team fights for every ball. Tonight they didn’t create too much, but I’m proud of the players fighting spirit. This team looks like it never gives up. Being lethal and retaining possession are two different things. Plus, we were constantly marked and out numbered at most times. Perisic couldn’t do much without the mid field aiding him.

Normally, gaglia vecino and borja as AMC is better against big opponent. But putting brozo as AMC instead is showing how spalletti approach this game to win, not to draw. Later in the game when gaglia came in is when spalletti decided to secure the one point.

Introducing Gagliardini instead of Candreva was a change in formation to diamond where rube’s midfield will be more pressured and it was the only way to try and score a goal

Brozovic is having a lot of duty while playing as AMC, he put pressure up front and then also going back deep to help defence. He’s one to start attack too, tiredness have a say to his many inaccurate passes. But I appreciate his working rate and attitude.
I was hoping for more from vecino though. He lost the battle against matuidi while valero is showing his class yet again.

i dont read statistic, but i believe theres different role from each of them. for example its normal if borja n brozo has low stats on intercept n tackles cause its not their main job or type to do that.
I agree that everyone has specific role to do, and Vecino did his job in a right way. He never a sparkling midfielder, but a reliable one
It was a good starting xi especially playing valero as CM where we manage to control themmidfield at first half, but it would be better if spaletti play naga to cover cuodrado and play eder as trequerista. In the second half spaletti make the team get worst by sub off candreva with gagli and play defensive tactic, a clear sign that he doesnt confidence with our team and wanted a draw, which Im not happy at all

Before gagli in our duo vecino-valero able to control the midfield however after controlling the midfield they can distribute it to our forward since brozo is invicible. If brozo plays up to his standard he can linked the midfield to icardi, perisic and candreva and create a lot of chances

Borja is good in creating chance for other meanwhile brozo is exactly like guarin. He has two options either to pass or he can execute it himself. Attacking wise brozo is better.
I agree with this. On a day when our whole mid field wasn’t allowed to play naturally, with efficient man-marking and pressing against us, we can’t single out Brozovic for bad play. Perisic and Candreva weren’t there to his side like always, and Valero Vecino were always on the back foot.
Plus, remember his 2 curlers against Juve last season? The only one who would even dream of scoring like that? Just last match you were all praising him and kissing his posterior. Juve were just too good, let’s accept that. Our players were not bad, but yes, they were worse than a better team.

I honestly would have started valero as a AMC and gagliardini as cdm with vecino. I think they would have made a big difference and maybe we could have a higher chance to achieve 3 points. But yeah just my opinion.

We had some grip on the game in first half but the second half was one of our worst performances this season, hard to watch. Considering that, I’ll gladly take the point and stay undefeated. Especially in an away match with Juve. Hoped for a better match to be honest.
