After the draw in the Serie A away with Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti spoke to Sky Sport Italia to analyse the match and the performance overall.

“I knew that we have a strong team is but sometimes they don’t believe in the win until the end, as in the second half today. We gained a very important point, and played very well in the first half. We moved the ball with quality but when it comes to finalising we need more conviction” Spalletti began before continuing that “in the second half we could not make clean plays, they pressed us well and we made some mistakes, we were often shy passing, then they pressed hard and everything became difficult, we have to hurry up to realize all our possibilities. Tonight we had nothing to lose, here we have arrived, no one has given us anything.”

Spalletti then touched on tonight’s tactical line up stating that “we couldn’t find Brozovic as much as planned, we did not always find the right space in their half, and in the second half we conceded some fouls which could have been dangerous because they know how to be dangerous from set pieces, so I put Gagliardini on.”

The former Roma coach was a bit disappointed with some of his players stating that “we expected something more from the offensive players like Perisic and Candreva. It is clear that they had got used to something different, tonight in the first half and in the second they did some great defensive work. There is something missing but it is an important point, we can realize that we have come to Turin to play at the same level as Juventus because we have important qualities that must always be exhibited.”

Spalletti’s closing remarks were regarding a light hearted question regarding Chiellini and Allegri, “If Chiellini and Allegri pay for the dinner, I would certainly go out to eat with them.”
