Inter defender Miranda spoke to Inter TV following the 0-0 draw with Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
“We did not want a draw, we wanted to win against Juventus. Now we will return to San Siro and try to win another three points. We go home a bit angry, even though Juventus is a great team.”
He proceeded to discuss whether he felt the result was the correct one or not on the night.
“Juve fielded a physical team but we always played the ball well, especially in the first 30 minutes of the game. Against a great opponent it may be normal to lose some control when on the ball [but it did not happen tonight]. All in all, I think it was the correct result.”
The 33-year-old Brazilian was making his 15th appearance of the season in the Derby D’Italia and played the full match in Turin. He picked up his seventh and Inter’s eighth clean sheet of the season so far.
We tried for 30 mins in the first half, but we had a lot of miss passing and couldn’t continue the build up, it was clear that Spaletti was affraid of opening a play from the left were Cuadrado the who*e was but Candy and D’ambrosio committed a lot of errors. In the second half, borja and vecino couldn’t force more pressure on the opponents so Spaletti switched to a diamond formation where Perisic moved up front as a secons striker and Gagliardini helped in the midfield to hold back rube’s attacks, we succeeded in this and opened up a little bit of spaces and created some scoring opportunities but we didn’t have enough time to steal a goal.. well done Inter
Given how dominant Juve was throughout the match, we should be extremely pleased with the 0-0 draw. A clean sheet, extended unbeaten run and being done with one of the hardest fixtures of the season.
We weren’t exactly “lucky” to come off without a loss, because Handa Skriniar and Miranda were in tremendous form, but it didn’t look like at any point that we could score. All credits to Juve. A brilliant team.
We have a couple moments with icardi’s blocked by hand and brozo’s inches wide-shot.
And yes we’re lucky enough.
What do you mean by throughout the match!! We dominated Rube in the first half and they dominated us in the second half…
I was talking about how we had 0 shots in the entire first half, and our usual game of crossing was completely nullified. Yes, we had majority of the possession in the first half, and we played some very smooth football, but we still never seemed like in complete control or like we’d score anytime soon. That’s what i was addressing Kudos to the team for their brilliant defence, I’ll give them that.
Correct me if i am wrong, but we have played all the games versus Roma, Napoli and Juve away, right? And we took home points every time! I don’t know if that is luck or just the likely return of good times. But no, Juve did have the chances to take it all. Nevertheless, the top teams are the ones who get away like we did. Continue to win against the smaller team and avoid the breakdown after the christmas break, then things are looking bright! I still don’t believe in the scudetto, but I feel very optimistic about finally seeing Inter in CL again!
Yes, all 3 of those games were away.
I agree with what you say. Apart from the Roma game where the woodwork saved us thrice(but also where we attacked and scored 3 goals very well), we’ve done a commendable job to be where we are right now. We are a team under construction, and we’ve exceeded all our expectations until this point. Let’s keep this going! 🙂
Hear, hear! The construction crew is doing wonders! A few reinforcements and we are good to go 😀
