Benito Carbone: “I Made The Biggest Mistake Of My Career At Inter”

Former Inter player Benito Carbone spoke on his transfer to Inter in the summer of 1995 in an interview with bwin Sport’s Italian edition.

“It is a choice that I would not make again. It was Massimo Moratti’s first year in charge and shortly thereafter they would start buying strong players. I did not play in the position I wanted. I should have had a moment of patience, reasoning and maybe with Luigi Simoni I would have found myself well but it did not happen.

“Mistakes are made in ones career and maybe some think that I changed teams so often because I was the problem, but the truth is very different. For example, when I was at Napoli they had debts so I was sold. I made the biggest mistake of my career at Inter.”

46-year-old Carbone is now assistant manager to former Inter great Walter Zenga at Serie A side Crotone.
