San Lorenzo defender Paulo Diaz has spoken out on the rumours concerning his future with the Argentine top flight club amid links to Inter among other European sides.

“I have seen and heard everything that has been in the press concerning me transferring to Europe and whether it can happen or not,” he revealed to Clarin.

“It is certainly very nice that big clubs are interested in me. I have earned it, no one has given me anything, and I must take advantage of it. However, as I have always told my father, everything will happen when it happens. San Lorenzo is not a small club, but a great club in Argentina, and I am in no hurry to go to Europe.”

The Chilean international centre back first came in to links with the Nerazzurri in the summer and has remained on their radar since. The 23-year-old, who can also play at right back, is currently under contract for a further two years.
