Former Milan player Massimo Ambrosini spoke on Ivan Perisic’s current run of poor form.
“It is true, he is struggling, but it is hard to take him off because he can make something happen in one way or another. Now, however, he does not seem able to change a difficult game. I do not know what it depends on, whether it is those who play behind him or by a level he has not yet reached.”
Perisic started the season in blistering form scoring three and assisting three in the opening four fixtures. He starred in the recent win over Chievo Verona where he scored three of Inter’s five goals that night. However since that game he has looked a bit off the boil and been unable to reach his normal performance levels. All in all, Perisic has scored seven goals and made six assists in 17 outings in all competitions this season.
he is in sleeping mode … spalleti do something !!
It might be just a coincidence, but i have noticed more often that Perisic’s form dips with the weather. In the colder months in the middle hes always left effective then the the fist few or the last few. Idk its just a theory
Perisic’s problem is he looks always want to score, it’s seem he compete with Icardi, he need to focus deliver ball to Mauro instead, like Candreva did. And I think he play better when paired with Naga, it’s seem Naga can balanced perisic’s pace.
Even though I dont want this matter said by any Milan players especially a former one, i believe every thing he said almost true. Perisic is a great winger, one of the best in Serie A, but sometimes he just turns off his skills in some games. Great players dont do that sort of things.
I know most of time when he plays bad/average as he needs to help defence and this happened because our full backs yet still not reach their standard level. But I believe that he still needs to make some impacts in his games especialy when the team need him the most.
Spalletti’s philosophy require a quality
playmaker in front of midfielders and behind forwards that can help wingers like Perisic and Candreva let out their best potential.
That’s why if we cant buy anyone next winter mercato then Spalletti needs to transform our playmakers in the squad.
