According to Tuttosport Inter have entered the final stages of bringing Alessandro Bastoni back from his loan with Atalanta early.
“Alessandro Bastoni will soon return to Inter, a year and a half before expected, after his transfer in the summer. The meeting between Ausilio and Percassi will serve to renegotiate the bonuses agreed on in the summer aside from the €8 million spent by Suning to sign the rights of the player.”
Inter completed Bastoni’s signing back in the summer mercato but loaned him right back to Atalanta to allow him to continue his development. However, with defensive cover thin on the ground after Zinho Vanheusden’s long term injury, the Nerazzurri have been forced in to bringing him back early to provide the cover they need.
Bastoni has been a regular for La Dea’s Primavera and despite being in the first team squad pretty often too, he has managed just one Serie A appearance this season. The 18-year-old Italian youth international is under contract with Inter through to 2022.
He finally got to start and play a full match yesterday in Coppa Italia , Atalanta -Sassuolo 2-1:
He did very well.
Funnily enough he did well offensively , participating in the build up of a few clear chances for Atalanta and with a dangerous headball in Sassuolo’s box.
He surprised me , he seems to have matured a lot more compared to last season.
He needs to be loaned out to a smaller team or even a serie B team. He won’t get any playing time with us right now.
I think Inter needs a back up for Miranda and Skrinia. They are not going to spend crazy in Winter, so Bastoni is a decent back up. He will play for Inter Primavera Team at the same time. Remember Atalanta Youth team is on top of Youth League
