During an interview with Brazilian newspaper LANCE!, Shakthar Donetsk’s Brazilian player Bernard, who has been rumoured as a possible Inter target, talked about developments related to the possible renewal of his contract with his current club: “We have discussed a renewal, but we still have some time to figure out how things will evolve. It’s a delicate moment, we cannot be rushed. We have to sit down, talk, analyze all the points. I am 25 years old, this could be an important contract for my life and my career. Generally contracts last for 4-5 years, the next could come when I’m 30. So I’ll have to think about it.

“There is the interest of many European clubs, that’s why I have to be calm, to choose the best solution. There are many leagues where I would like to play, but not only me, but everyone would like to play. Leagues like the Premier League, La Liga, even the French league where there have been many investments.  Then who knows, I could stay at Shakthar, go to another club in Europe or Brazil. We will know later, I hope it will be the best choice for me and for the team where I will play.”

Bernard also added some clubs from Brazil showed interest towards him: “This is a very delicate moment, my contract expires in the middle of next year and I cannot close the doors to anyone. But first I have to understand what Shakthar Donetsk thinks, and what they can offer. If the proposed conditions are not favorable, then I will sit at the table with other clubs to understand what is the best option for everyone.”
