Inter legend Sandro Mazzola reviewed Inter’s 1-0 extra time loss to city rivals Milan last night in the Coppa Italia quarter final.

“Losing a derby leaves you with a lump in your throat and Inter must understand what is required to react to this defeat.”

Mazzola, who spent his entire 17 year career with Inter, then slammed Inter who he believes went in to the game in the wrong fashion.

“When you go out on to the pitch and think you have already won, the game is lost. That is what happened to Inter last night. They done so in front of a Milan side who are capable of exploiting every opportunity they get in order to win.”

He concluded the interview conducted by Elle Radio discussing current club captain Mauro Icardi.

“He is a player who has solved so many problems, often with a single decisive passage of play in a match. He is the most important reference point in this team.”
