Inter Don’t Want To Miss Out On Barella Like They Did With Nainggolan

Inter is currently working hard on getting Cagliari player Nicola Barella to Milan. The reason for this is that the management do not want to repeat the mistake they did with Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who in 2014 was snatched from Inter under their nose by Roma. This time Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio does not want to miss out on a valuable player like Nainggolan turned out to be.

According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, economically the deal with Barella is similar to the one that went down three years ago between Roma and Cagliari. The Giallorossi paid Cagliari around €18 million in total in order to get the signature from the Belgian international.

Inter value Barella at about €16 million, while Cagliari wants €30 million. There could be a solution where the two teams meet halfway though but competition for the player is allowing Cagliari President Giulini to be in charge, and he wants to extend the player’s contract to 2022 in order to have even more leverage.

Piero Ausilio does not want to waste any time and wants to find the right formula in order to put Inter in pole position, but it will not be easy since President Giulini wants to gamble and get as much money as possible from a deal with his jewel together with the fact that the Inter DS is under financial restrictions from Inter owner Suning. Rest assured there will be an attempt during January’s transfer market: Inter is putting pressure on Cagliari and will not give up without a fight.
