Inter are looking to strengthen certain areas of the side in this January transfer window with defence being one of those areas. With this in mind their attentions turn to 25 year old Danish defender Jannik Vestergaard of Borussia Moenchengaldbach.
The young Dane has had a solid start to the season in the Bundesliga this season and is attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe including Arsenal & Tottenham. With the arrival of yougster Alessandro Bastoni from Atalanta a near certainty, Inter look to further strengthen an area of the side in which they are currently short of options. According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Inter are currently monitoring the situation and may even make a offer to the German club for a loan straight away with a view to making the deal permanent for a cash fee in the summer.
A deal for the summer looks more complicated for Inter however. With the likes of Arsenal also in the frame as they seek a replacement for the outgoing Per Mertesacker and Tottenham who are looking for a defender that fits his profile perfectly. The allure and money of the Premier League may push Inter further down the pecking order.
Vestergaard!?? Nah, not Inter material -yet. He is too inconsistent, and sometimes makes mistakes that cost his team a goal even though he has improved a lot lately and in fact has been considered a big talent for some years now.
Don’t believe for a second we are after him and don’t think he is what we´re looking for either. If he should arrive we should immediately send him on loan in Serie A to learn how to play in Italy because that´s a lot harder than in Germany, where Jannick has played all his carrier.
But as I said maybe in 1-2 years time he´s ready to be a fine back up, but as of now Ranno is in fact a much better back up than Jannick Vestergaard would be – and yes, they are quite similar in defending stile.
The only Danish defender I´d like would be Andreas Christensen from Chelski, or Kjær as a back up.
Just a fellow Dane´s opinion. 😉
