Inter coach Luciano Spalletti and his Fiorentina counterpart Stefano Pioli, have decided to start tonight’s Serie A fixture at the Stadio Artemio Franchi with the following 22 players when referee Paolo Valeri blows his whistle at 20.45 CET.
Spalletti has decided to make a few surprising changes such as benching Antonio Candreva and replacing him with Joao Mario on the right wing who is joined by his compatriot Joao Cancelo who plays on the right hand side of defence. Davide Santon starts to the left og the defence where Andrea Ranocchia and Milan Skriniar form a central defence partnership yet again.

opponents clearly see that they panic when they attack them. shouldn’t defensive players be resolut in tackling, breaking attacking actions and attack opponents to grab the ball, but not only watching them and stepping back until they find themselves in their own box, watching whether anything bad is going to happen to them ?
The funny thing is, it is short pass overkill…. I don’t remember how many times I saw someone almost free en another area, it could have been lobbed medium range passes to spaces that would create danger in an instant. But Fiorentina knew we never do passes that direction. I think it was Cancelo that started quite well doing longer passes. I don’t understand why Valero did not do what even I could see. I am a defender, and well… Our midfielders play as defenders far up. The tactic need some contradicting elements, even surprising team-mates. I stopped watching, and just listened eventually. In the city of Cosimo de Medici, Leornado da Vinci’s inspiration in wisdom for creativity. Go ‘Corpus Hermeticum’… Spalletti need a creative guy doing contra-Spalletti tactics. The players could do it, I am pretty sure they are not allowed at all to experiment outside the plan. We could get all the creative players we wanted, and still keep making them of conformity – the polar radical invertion of creativity… so…. Even my nephew, 5-years old could see fun ideas Spalletti could use….. I like him, but the conformity overkill is, well…
I am really beginning to doubt this team. If Roma passes us no way we will be in UCL. Lack of creativity is so clear that we just pass the ball horizontally or backwards. We need to put more energy in that midfield. What I realize has start to happen that was killing us last few seasons is that the mids mids are very lazy. They don’t get in or around the box! But still aren’t there to cover! Wth!!! I want you fellow interistas to really look at what I’m saying. We could do so much better only if our mids play to their potential. Make runs into the box pass through the lines and cover for each other.

defense starts with centerforward and wings and attack starts with defensive players … our lines seem somehow separated as if they are “not in good relations” LOL. I don’t see collective spirit and movement on the pitch, it looks to me like fragmented pieces of a game plan, like “this is not my job!”.

I’m sorry, but despite our lack of quality especially in midfield, Spalletti have to take his share of responsibility! We play like shit in attack, slow, predictable and clueles! We was lucky to score from set piece, but usually we have hundreds last ten games and we wasn’t able to create opportunity, let alone to score. And Borja isn’t trequartista, how many games we have to lose to understand that, he’s absolutely clueless when have to support attack. Gagliardini, I don’t know what’s happening with him, but he’s playing like shit, clumsy in defence and absolute zero in attack. Spalletti can’t and won’t change the system, refuse to take risks and is incapable to use substitutions to change the game.
Spalleti reminds me of Mancini and pioli or you can say he is the mixture of both. No doubt why he have not won anything with that mentality.
And inter dependency on icardi getting worst and have brought a great problem. I hope spalla have some ball to bench icardi and chance the way inter play

We need an AM for sure. Of all Spaletti ideas i’ve seen very little that we did through pass to our attackers. Few times i remember Icardi’s goals vs Roma and Chievo. I think we need more something like that

To be honest I think this is the level our players really have. We have been over performing a lot before Christmas but now players like Gagliardini are showing their only average players, and players like Perisic and Icardi who before Xmas were world class are showing they still need akt of working on to get there..

So dissapointed with this last minute draw. This match was supposed to kick start our new year but everyone will now go home sad and disappointed. These are kind of matches which lead to vicious cycle as we seen in Mancini and then Pioli era.

Leave Ausilio, he have his share of blame, even I’m sure that Gabriel Barbosa and Joao Mario wasn’t his decisions, but our owners advised of Kia Jorabchian. With that bad desions in the past and FFP tie our hands. In that kind of situations, coaches shows their value and earned their salary. We desperately need to change something and brake that vicious cycle, because we’re not far from repeating the old familiar thing and without Champions league next season, things will become even worse.
This season the only thing that is holding back from the top is squad depth and heck even Fiorentina have more quality attacking subs than Inter. The same Fiorentina that people thought will go bankrupt this season. Ausilio is not the only reason of Inter downfall but he surely is the greatest.
That is not exactly true, we have players like Eder, Brozovic, Candreva, Karamoh and Pinamonti on the bench. Even if I think that we need fresh blood, I don’t think that they are worse at least on paper than Babacar, Eysseric and Gil Dias.
I will take Babacar any day instead of Eder. He is fast and strong, something you need as backup and headers.
Brozovic is more complete midfielder but Eysseric is better offensively and creatively. Gil dias is a player who can cover several areas offensively and is very balanced one at that.
I wont count Karamoah and Pinamonti who are both primvera players and should not be used by any team aspiring for Cl place.
