Before Lazio’s match against Spal, Lazio sporting director Igli Tare spoke to Premium Sport about Inter target Stefan De Vrij, whose contract will expire this summer. Here are his words: “Today we have to win to give continuity to our ranking. Regarding De Vrij, negotiations require patience, the boy is still undecided. We hope to find clarity soon but we have not set him a time limit to decide because we know it is a matter of heart for him and for us.”

Can this situation create problems in the locker room?

“I don’t think so, because De Vrij is an exceptional guy, Lazio will go ahead with him or without him, there are plenty of players in the world and it’s up to us to find them. For this season we rely on him and on Caceres (who will arrive from Verona after the break) to continue doing well.”

Can you accept him leaving for nothing at an economic level?

“It’s something that has to be evaluated well, he’s an important player and we can achieve important results with him, so we have to balance everything at the right moment, it happens to clubs like Barcelona to lose players for zero money. We have to think about the good of the club, if he does not renew selling him in January is a possibility.”
