Inter officials met with Barcelona officials in the Spanish city to continue to discuss midfielder Rafinha according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Both clubs want a loan move but have differing opinions when it comes to the future option that the Nerazzurri could have. Inter want to sign the 24-year-old on loan with an option to make it permanent whereas the Blaugrana want it to be an obligatory option to sign him at the end of the loan.

The Brazilian midfielder is understood to be open to a switch to San Siro and has already rejected an offer to return to Celta Vigo where he previously spent a season on loan.

Within the next 48 hours, Barcelona are expected to make a final decision and if they agree to Inter’s terms the deal can be finalised quickly afterwards. Rafinha is yet to play this season due to only recently returning from a long term injury but has made 78 appearances for Barcelona during his short career which is impressive given the players ahead of him in the pecking order at the Nou Camp.
