Il Sole 24 Ore journalist, Marco Bellinazzo belives that this January transfer window will be one dominated by Financial Fair Play. Speaking to Radio Rai he said: “This transfer window will be characterised by Financial Fair Play. More so for teams such as Inter and Roma because of their respective agreement signed with UEFA,”

Bellinazzo then went on to say: “Both teams will look to make loan signings where possible. Roma face the possibility of UEFA sanctions having already overstepped the restrictions put in place by UEFA. There is a real chance that Roma will not be able to compete in the Champions League because of this. Roma has a very high in balance between management costs and revenues. This would suggest the need to sell a couple of their more important players. Teams like Roma, Napoli and Inter that have grow rapidly in recent years, not having made any investments that have not increased revenues, find themselves in a position where they have to rely on the UEFA Champions League revenue money or capital gains.”
