Argentinian defender Lisandro Lopez could be in line to make his debut for Inter next Sunday at home to Roma. The now seemingly former Benfica defender is thought to be completing his move to Inter on Monday and will train with the squad on Tuesday. The signing comes at a good time for Inter who are struggling with numbers at the back due to injuries to Joao Miranda, Andrea Ranocchia and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
After reporting earlier in the week that all three players were recuperating well and could be available for selection, Gazzetta dello Sport now seems more concerned with the condition of the injured players prompting a need for the Argentine to start straightaway alongisde Milan Skriniar at the heart of the Inter defence. Lopez has been more of a backup player for Benfica for the last two years and he has never been a first choice option in Lisbon. Having said that he certainly made a contribution for he Portuguese team scoring an important injury time equaliser against Porto to make it 1-1 last season. A goal that proved to be vital in them winning the Portuguese title.
I know nothing about this player, but buying a back up player from benfica seems to be a mistake let alone playing him as a starter. But the worse is that he is coming at the time when the morale of the whole team is way down. But who knows, maybe Spaletti will transform the lad
It’s a loan and Inter can buy him after the loan if Inter want. Good deal to fill the gaps in the cb reserves..
Filling the gaps with quality should be our target
Is he more garay or fazio?
