Inter and Barcelona remain in talks over midfielder Rafinha and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports through his website that optimism about completing the transfer is growing.
A loan with an option to redeem the 24-year-old but the clubs are still some way apart when it comes to agreeing upon the redemption fee. Inter’s latest offer of €25 million has been deemed unsatisfactory by the Barcelona leadership who would ultimately like around €50 million. However, Di Marzio reports that the two clubs are likely to settle for around €30 million as well as bonuses on top.
Di Marzio also reports that Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan remains an idea for the Nerazzurri club. The Argentine has fallen out of favour with Atleti manager Diego Simeone and has made just four starts all season. Should he be able to acquire the Portuguese passport that his agents have mentioned by the end of the window, it is possible that a deal could be done between Inter and Atletico and that Joao Mario could part of it.
40 mil try to buy toerreira from sampd instead…
He is better than what we have when health except Vicino.. Its worth a shot with Option to buy he is coming to us free for 6 months ..
Agreed although think we shouldn’t be paying anything more than 30-32mn including bonuses.
Other idea would be to try to get a Turan style 1.5Y loan with option closer to 35mn which gives us more time to evaluate the player and wouldn’t hit our finances immediately although not sure Barcelona willing to go down that route again.
No its this 6 months or never we will See.. They are refusing 35m
30 million plus bonus? it’s a stupid deal.. with 3 million + Intermilan should get a better fit and more quality, example mesut ozil (contract exired june 2018), carrasco, Bryan Cristante, or italian player like Verdi..
The overriding issue here is we don’t have any funds in the transfer kitty whether due to FFP or lack of Suning support is up for debate.
With the exception of Carrasco all the names you mentioned are regular starters for their teams and would be next to impossible for us to land them on loan as clubs would expect an outright sale which we can’t afford at the moment. Carrasco is a winger so isn’t really an alternative to Rafinha who typically plays as a central midfielder.
I actually really like Rafinha as he is great technically and will bring dynamism and creativity to our midfield which we are severely lacking.
Kovacic could be another name to target but expect negotiations with Real to be tricky at the moment given they are readying an assault for Icadi.
agree with u, rafinha is talented player, more creativity but 35-40 million euro is more expensive..
his injury history is worried..
Inter can make exchange Joao Mario + cash to sign Carrasco, or take mesut Ozil..
I don’t think we can afford Ozil as his salary would be well beyond our reach at the moment.
Apparently Simeone isn’t keen on a swap with Joao Mario for Carrasco and will only really consider swapping Gaitan who I am not a big fan of. Plus any redemption option for Carrasco would be at least in the 40-50mn range which would is more than we can afford at the moment.
I think the rumored Correa for Mario swap probably has more legs to it although I would prefer a straight sale of Mario to one of his premiereship suitors as we need to start balancing our books.
30mill+bonuses for someone that’s been hurt the entire season? It should be more like 20mill+bonuses given the circumstances… And it sounds like it’ll be obligation to buy which makes this even worse.
Why not just pay his full wages, pay a loan fee for the 6mos, and also have a redemption clause? That way we’re not stuck with him if we don’t want him and Barca get something (not just us paying his wages) for the loan. Also if we do end up wanting to keep him we have an option at the end of the loan.
The latest reports from Spain and Italy suggest Inter are prepared to take Rafinha on loan with option to buy from Barcelona at €35-40m.Negotiations are due to continue overnight and into tomorrow morning for the midfielder, who hasn’t played since April due to injury.
——– hello new gabi/alvares/etc. ?!?!?!
I just read that now it will most likely be option to buy also, as you noted. Makes this better… But 35mill+ is still to high. 6mos is such a small sample to judge him by if he does bad/okay/or great.
Just curious have you watched him play before? If healthy would he actually be worth that much? I ask because I never have watched him before.
only when paste his name on youtub. must admit, I am not so much impressed ( not convinced that he is 35-49mill worth!)… many unfinished actions… barca are not idiots, they think twice before they release someone.
paste “Rafinha, barcelona” in youtube.
