La Gazzetta dello Sport columnist Carlo Laudisa has had his say on Inter target Rafinha, and what he would bring to the Nerazzurri.

Laudisa started by discussing the Brazilian midfielder’s injury record, saying that the Barcelona man will have to undergo stringent medical checks to ensure he can return to top form having missed so much action.

It is no secret that the former Celta Vigo loanee has struggled to establish himself in Catalonia, despite once being one of the club’s hottest prospects. That said, Inter are ready to put their faith in him and give him a platform on which to rediscover his best form.

Should he pass the medical and athletic tests, Luciano Spalletti knows he will be able to count on a very adaptable player, who can contribute in both phases of play.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio is in Barcelona, where he will meet with club executives in order to reach a deal for Rafinha to join Inter’s squad ahead of Sunday night’s match against Roma.
