For the past couple of months Stefan De Vrij has been tracked closely by many different teams. His current contract with Lazio will expire in six months which explains why he is a hot pick for many clubs, including Inter.

The Nerazzurri were ready to present him an offer once his contract with Lazio had expired but according to Il Messaggero, the Dutch international central defender is on the verge of signing an contract extension with the Biancocelesti.

According to the report the former PSV Einfhoven defender is enjoying his stay at the Rome based club and he is very likely to sign a contract extension. De Vrij is currently happy with the Lazio’s progress in Serie A and can envisage them playing in the Champions League next season.

Representing Lazio in Champions League will be a dream for the player and therefore he has decided to turn down offers from other clubs for that reason.
