Inter have sparked an interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey according to reports.

Gazzetta dello Sport first broke the news within Italy of the Nerazzurri’s interest in the Ghanaian and Spanish outlet AS have also reported on Inter’s interest and are the latest to have done so.

Gazzetta believe Inter see him as an alternative to Ramires, who they are continuing to struggle to sign from sister club Jiangsu Suning.

In the coming days, Inter management expect to start talks with their opposite numbers at the Spanish club to discuss the feasibility of a deal involving the 24-year-old.

The Atleti youth academy product has been a regular feature in Diego Simeone’s side this term making no less than 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring four times. He is primarily a defensive midfielder but can play as a more traditional central midfielder, out wide, at right back and centre back also.
