Milan’s former head of scouting Mauro Bianchessi revealed an interesting anecdote about how they came to acquiring striker Patrick Cutrone.

“I have to thank an observer who was exceptional in the whole story of Patrick. He had gone to meet with Inter but the Nerazzurri had not given him any answers, so we acted and we wanted to see him. After ten minutes, I immediately stopped the father to tell him that we wanted him and we shook hands [and agreed a deal.]”

The 20-year-old has burst out on to the scene this season for the Rossoneri scoring nine goals in 25 appearances in all competitions, including a memorable winner in December’s Coppa Italia Derby della Madonnina. The Italian youth international has been on the books of Inter’s city rivals since the 2006/07 season and he has worked his way up the ranks being prolific at each and every level he has played at.
