Inter’s new arrival from Barcelona, Rafinha Alcantara, is something of an enigma in that no one has quite really seen the best of him yet due to his injuries in his still short career. La Gazzetta dello Sport believes however that that Inter have signed a player that was exactly what Luciano Spalletti’s squad was missing.

Yesterday in his pre match press conference ahead of today’s match away to SPAL in Serie A, Spalletti explained how to get the best out of his new man. Gazzetta have elaborated on that saying: “Rafinha is not a dribbler, he is a wise and talented player. He is not Neymar not by nature nor by constitution, but he has an entertaining football soul. A soul that has been educated at the Barcelona school where one on one is an integral part of the teachings. Spalletti second part of his teachings are to involve the player in as many places of the pitch as possible. Due to his lengthy injury layoff, his physical condition must grow gradually, so with this in mind, Rafinha can currently be the -back up trequartista, the backup to Candreva and can also be the backup defensive midfielder. From the bench he can come on and be placed in the area of the pitch he is needed most. He has already impressed in his first training sessions with the team for his enthusiasm and his willingness. The next five months will certainly not be a holiday, but more of an opportunity not just for the young Brazilian but for everyone.”
