Former Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar has joined Flamengo in his native Brazil.

The 38-year-old is a product of the Rio de Janeiro based club’s youth academy and spent seven years in the senior side prior to joining Inter in 2005.

Cesar went on to spend seven years at Inter and was a crucial part of one of the most successful periods the club has ever had which involved winning the triplete in the 2009/10 season.

The former Brazilian international had been a free agent since the end of November last year when he left Portuguese outfit Benfica.
