Premium Sport spoke to Inter flop Gabriel Barbosa, who discussed his return to happiness after his move to Santos, back home in his native Brazil, after two negative experiences at Inter first and then at Benfica in Portugal. Here are the Brazilian’s words who had some strong words aimed at Inter: “When I arrived at Inter the coach spoke to me, but in a short time there were so many changes, especially on the bench. The club was not going through a good period, they preferred more experienced players and I understood that, so they did not let me play, they did not even give me five games in a row to see if I was really ready, to prove myself. This made me sad because I could not do what I love most which is playing football. I don’t think the expression ‘a fresh start’ is accurate, because for me it’s just getting back to being happy and able to play ”.
The striker cost €29.5m from Santos, but failed to get a single Serie A start and was loaned to Benfica. After six months in a similar situation, the Brazilian opted for a return on loan to his first club.
your problem is not game playing, it’s hard partying
he is scoring in every game at santos now …
Karamoh is lucky that candreva plays very ugly recently, otherwise he will end up like gabi.. and named karamohflop
Yes but during the season, it was hard to test your skills Gabriel, and your attitude was an obstacle, you only wanted to prove yourself at Inter, you should have taken the chance to prove yourself to Inter at Benfica more seriously, now that Martinez have chosen Inter I’m not sure you have a place at Inter, add to that Karamoh amazing status when it comes to proving your worth, not a single minute you played showed what we were expecting.
I want doesn’t get. You got to earn your chance. Scoring goals in Brazil doen’t mean much.
We had been doing the same with Karamoh, I’m sure if he couldn’t perform against Bologna, he would never get another chance then.
And we’re doing the same with Dalbert. Such gutless coaches we have!
gutless coaches! i like this expression despite of the high trust i got in spaletti
The odd thing is he was a pioneer in Roma, innovated the “false-nine” and had the courage to bench Totti, but don’t know why, every coach who set his foot in Inter environment, goes horribly conservative and gutless.
You couldn’t break up in Benfica, you think you are a hotshot but the fact you are still far away is what holds you back that is why your only success would be in Santos as they treat you as a legend
Still thinking that he wont return to Inter for good. 🙁
2 games for santos, 2 goals
Yeah but comparing Brazil and Europe in terms of football….. he is good for South America
I mean young talents come from those leagues, gabriel jesus did the same and he was given a chance, we bought this young striker from argentina so hes got just as much experience as gabi
yea agree, not much of chances given by the coach..
But quality wise Gabriel Jesus is 7 times better. It’s comes down to players quality. Sad truth is that gabigol is just not Europe material
I mean if you compare man city to inter the quality they have is incredible, any player would look like a superstar, difference is we never gave gabi a chance, but hes also only 21 so we will see
So, how bout L. Martinez? Same as Gabi, L. Martinez come from South America. Gabi only need playing time, chance to express, impress. hope not like Coutinho, another great talent
Comparing these all players is nonsense. Does not matter where the player comes from what matters is whether is he is good or bad. Gabi isn’t good enough for Europe (prove: failed in two countries)
the problem with gabi may not his footballing skill, but his professionalism that doesn’t suits European football. If you aren’t ronaldinho, you don’t partying hard a night before the game.
