Italian media outlet La Repubblica reports in today’s newspaper that Inter have agreed terms with Lazio’s Dutch international central defender Stefan De Vrij, over a five year contract.
The report comes just a day after Biancocelesti Sporting Director Igli Tare confirmed that the player and the club will part ways at the end of the season. According to the report Inter have agreed terms with De Vrij over a five year contract which will see the former Feyenoord man earn €4 million net per season excluding bonuses which could take his salary up to €5,5 million net per season.
Lazio are now, according to La Republicca, appealing to the Dutchman’s professionalism given that the Nerazzurri and the Biancocelesti are fighting it out for the coveted fourth spot in the Serie A which guarantees a spot in the last qualifying round to the groupstages of next season’s Champions League.
De Vrij is in his fourth season at Lazio having featured 252 times across all competitions getting on the scoresheet 14 times in the process.
Would like to see a three man defense with De Vrij – Miranda – Skriniar. Pretty solid!
3 man defence belongs to prehistoric ages.
Which is why Juventus has won so many times with a 3 man defense?
… and was humiliated in Europe.
If you want to see a 3 man defense just look at Sarri tactics at Napoli, but that’s only a 3 man defense in certain instances when Albiol and koulibaly spread to let Jorginho drop deep.
We could potentially do that with skriniar since he has ball playing ability but the problem is that de vrij likes to play as the center cb in a pseudo back 3.
Doubt that, is that (napoli n rube result in europe) realy tactical problem or mentality?i guess the 2nd one, just like mancity or psg.
Only in Italy, where they are by far the richest.
Mourinho created the best defense of that season in the whole europe. but the downslide started after that. after the treble we had massive offers for some of our players like Maicon, Sneijder and Milito. yes they are legends but the management should have thought of the future and used that money in investing in the youth. at that time a young Hazard was linked with Inter but we did not invest in him. the squad of that season was already an ageing one with most of the players above 30. we desperately needed some young blood but we lacked the vision. then we bought Ranochia and instead of grooming him we paired him with another young defender in Juan Jesus. the same season Juve bought Bonucci and paired him with experienced defenders like Chilleni and Barzagli. they are doing the same with Rugani now as he is being groomed by the same pair. maybe with proper grooming Ranocchia could have become a very good defender. Our scouting is the worst in Italy. AC Milan has home grown players like Donarumma, Calabria, Locatelli and Cotrone. Lazio can find gems like Savic, keita balde and de Vrij, Fiorentina can find players like Bernardeschi, Chiosa, Stefen Savic and what do we have to show?
Problem is that we might have gems but they are not given a chance. Pinamonti, Emmers, Colidio, Zaniolo, Odgaard and Lombardoni have potential but they will never develop at Inter. Only chance are for them to be sold and bought back if they are successful – as with the Miangue deal with Cagliari. You need a coach who trust youngsters and give them a chance to play regularly.
Coach n patient fans, are we ready to tolerate our youngsters when they making mistake in real games that cost us lossing point?i dont believe we wise enough to do that
i agree. we are wasting Pinamonti in Inter. he should be loaned to some other club where he can get regular playing time. players can train in the training ground but nothing is better than competitive football. maybe nxt season we will sell him to another club with buy back option.
And still Ausilio sucks?
Massively
Yeah, so easy to find someone to blame.
that would be a massive coup if we can sign him. perfect replacement for Miranda
Imagine de vrij scoring an own goal in the last game to make sure his new team will play cl instead of his old team. That would be hilarious
I really do not appreciate an improper gesture like that. If he does it to lazio, maybe he’ll do the same to our Inter.
keep skriniar ,sell anyone not skr
Id keep cancelo and thats really it
What do you like about Cancelo exactly? Yea he puts in a decent cross frequently but he’s also very soft defensively. His qualities are in attack but he’s also no Maicon /r Carlos in attack.
For me Cancelo is a good player but not a star fullback worth 35mil release clause. We should sell Kondogbia and let Cancelo rejoin Valencia since he ain’t worth that fee. Now for 15 mil max I would take cancelo but as it stands we still have a big problem with fullbacks and midfielders: Dalbert is too shy but maybe next year he will shine since he does have the explosive pace, can cross when he’s confident and can actually defend. I like his aggression.
Dambo should be a backup or we should cash in on him while he’s still a nazional player (to show you how low the nazionale is when dambrosio is called up).
As for midfield brozo should be sold, as well a Perisic. Vecino and Gagliardini and very similar and are quite redundant… why can’t our directors stop signing redundant players? Mundigayi, kondogbia, vecino, Gagliardini, kuzmanovic, etc all box to box midfielders. What we needed was a real regista and Borja’s form has fallen: Fio knew what they were doing when they let him go… we should have signed badelj instead of the twins… also we lack a combative dmf and a regista, and an amf!! Can you believe that? All we have is box to box midfielders! No wonder our play is so sterile and is overly reliant on the wings.
Can’t really blame Candreva and Perisic, the team is predictable since we can only attack via the flanks or if vecino /brozo are on fire. Candreva actually has been doing his job but he’s always been limited as shown during his time with rube. He’s a good player but not a fuoriclasse, he looks good as part of a unit as he did with Lazio and contes nazionale. Ivan Perisic is actually a great player but his issue is psychological, I think he just needs a rest.
Make no mistake, the only players worthy of inter overall are Miranda, skriniar, icardi, handa and perisic.
The rest are horses.
I’ll say it time and time again… we never should have sold banega and I think it’s spalettis fault since we know very well he likes a perotta / naingolan type of amf that surges forward and not a finesse player. Banega was resold to Sevilla for peanuts considering his quality.
Also, jovetic, sure he wasn’t the same player we saw at Fiorentina but he would have been extremely useful. Damnit even ljajic would have been useful and just needed a strong coach.
Was also nice to see pinamonti get a run out, he made the right movements, he needs more time but he’s a real striker.
I’m grateful to spaletti for what he did with a limited squad but at this point his classical Italian view of playing experienced players is hurting him… he only played karamoh because he had no real options. Stop playing Éder in icardis positon please, it’s clear the guy shines playing as a shadow striker… you have to play him as a foil to a cf like icardi /pinamonti. In those instances eder is actually a little terrier and compliments the cf, I mean we bought him precisely because he showed such good form playing that position at samp!
Forget symmetry: let’s play with one winger in karamoh, then use Éder off icardi. The mid 3 need to be brozo (pushes up), vecino (box to box who can score) and Borja to drop deep and help skriniar/Miranda (heck of old montolivo can help Milan back line why can’t Borja?)
Defense needs to be cancelo, mirand, skriniar and Dalbert, I’m so done with dumrosio mistakes and heavy feet, sure Dalbert doesn’t offer as much going forward but at least he has pace and dives into tackles.
Inter per sempre, ti amooooooooo
Nerazzurro nel cuoreeeee per sempreeeeree
Chi non salta rubentino e, E!
Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni, Cancelo, Dumbo, Dalbert, Vanheusden. One more LB in the summer after offloading the rest of the defense.
Not half bad honestly.
Bring back Di Marco, as a back up for Dalbert
It is hard to keep cancelo in such value.
I think it’s simple really. Offload Ranocchia and Brozovic or Candreva and that’s easy.
Then, who wanna buy them?
