Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera strongly believes that Inter coach Luciano Spalletti is very annoyed with the leadership at the club especially with Steven Zhang and, above all, Piero Ausilio and will therefore leave the club at the end of the season. The dip in form has brought out many of the underlying problems in the management of the club.
Added to all this, there is the situation related to Mauro Icardi, as the Italian newspaper states: “Officially his injury problem is an elongation to the right hamstring, but the real nature of his problems is related to his knee. The Argentine has an inflammation of the patellar tendon and a muscular recurrence which he has suffered since his time at Sampdoria. This specific problem had already stopped Icardi after the November match with Torino, so much so that he did not join the Argentina squad at that time”. In short, his return to the field against Benevento does not seem as likely as reported. Just as it is not likely that he will remain in Nerazzurri colours for long. The roads of Icardi and Inter will probably be divided at the end of the season. In the coming days the player’s entourage will have a chat with the Nerazzurri management. The striker will only stay if there is a project, he realised however that Suning cannot spend massively to strengthen the team in the summer. The real risk is losing Icardi for 110 million as per his release clause. If Spalletti will not succeed in entering the Champions, League, Inter will have to once again revolutionise the squad.
