Inter have hit back at reports that the club’s finances are in such turmoil that the club should not be allowed to partake in the Serie A.
The Nerazzurri released a statement on the club’s official homepage threatening legal action against Il Sole 24 Ore for the report which the club claim are “incorrect and misleading as well as harmful to the image of the club.” The media outlet claimed that Inter’s accumulated debt is so high and out of control that the club should be prohibited from partaking in the Serie A.
This prompted the Nerazzurri to release the following statement on their official homepage stating that they “would like to make it clear that its consolidated financial statements contain comprehensive data and information as required by the Italian Civil Code and legal and regulatory provisions relating to the financial statements of football clubs. This data shows that that the views expressed in the article are both incorrect and misleading as well as harmful to the image of the club, which has fully adhered to Italian law and FIGC regulations.
The financial statement ending 30 June 2017 was approved first by the relevant club bodies and then by the shareholders’ meeting, before successfully passing checks carried out by the Professional Football Clubs Supervisory Commission (Co.Vi.So.C.).
The club believes it to be of primary importance that laws and regulations on financial statements are adhered to and will take all necessary legal actions to defend itself and its image in order to once again confirm that the financial information contained in the financial statement, explanatory notes and management report is transparent and truthful.”
Every time we have a big match ahead, some of these BREAKING NEWS comes up. Conspiracy? Why not! It’s Italy, the country of one of the biggest football scandals named “Calciopoli”.

i am disagree with the threaten of legal to them, instead we should go with legal action right away with the hope their journalist and editor got jailed by publishing such damaging news. imagine on how much time and money spent by inter to build its reputation. this kind of behaviour from such garbage journalist must be punished so that they will think twice in publishing a news and will become a shock therapy to other lousy desperate journalist to not play around with their journalism ethics
Sue them and ask them to pay for the damage..
