Inter transfer target Lautaro Martinez spoke with AS Argentina on what he wants in the future among other topics.

“Playing in Europe is my goal, it would be nice to grow up and keep learning, when I had offers, I wanted to stay to continue learning. I promised, I renewed my contract and I want to win the Copa Libertadores, then we’ll see, I like the Spanish and the Italian championships, I know that I would fit in well there, I like them a lot. ”

The Nerazzurri have made their interest well known but are not the only club courting him with Atletico Madrid among others doing the same.

“I talked to Diego Simeone, he told me about the interest in me and he explained the meaning of the club to me. I saw that there was interest, but I decided to stay at Racing to keep improving.”

His performances have caught the eye of Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli and many have tipped Martinez to travel with the national team to this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

“I have been thinking about playing at the World Cup since I was a child.  I hope [I get the call], everyone tells me I will but I work mainly to win the games with my team, then it will be up to the coach to make a decision.”
