Inter are not the only Italian club courting Bernard according to FCInterNews.it, with Roma understood to be keen on the Brazilian midfielder.
After Shakhar took on Roma in the Champions League earlier this week, Giallorossi sporting director Monchi alerted the 25-year-old’s representatives that they were interested.
Bernard’s contract expires in a matter of months and as a result a number of clubs have taken an interest in him with a view to acquiring him on a free transfer in the summer. Premier League side Chelsea and Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid are also believed to be keen on him.
Other reports have suggested that Bernard could sign a pre-contract with the Nerazzurri by the end of the month but the interest of the three other mentioned clubs could derail that.
Bernard has been on the books of the Ukrainian side for five years and this season he has made 29 appearances, scoring 10 and assisting four times.
