Inter could offer Roma either Joao Mario or Marcelo Brozovic in return for Kevin Strootman according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 28-year-old Dutch midfielder is a long term target of the Nerazzurri and has a €32 million clause that Inter would be hoping to completely bypass by sending either the Portuguese or Croatian as a counterpart. The central midfielder has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season for the Giallorossi, scoring once and assisting once also.

Strootman is one of a number of players that Inter are working on ahead of this summer’s transfer window. Inter have already reportedly got an agreement in place that will see Racing Club forward Lautaro Martinez join the club. They are also courting both Stefan de Vrij and Kwadwo Asamoah with a view to acquiring them on free transfers upon their contracts expiring with Lazio and Juventus respectively. Zenit St Petersburg full back Domenico Criscito is also under consideration by Inter management and is viewed as an alternative to Asamoah.
