Luciano Spalletti’s persistence with the same 11 brought the best out of Inter as they thrashed Sampdoria in their own backyard. Inter came out of the blocks wanting to play Marco Giampaolo’s men off the park and managed to do that. Mauro Icardi got to his 100th goal in Serie A (and for Inter) and ended up with four before being subbed off in what looked like a mercy substitution. Lets see how the others fared:

Samir Handanovic-6.5 : Had to make two saves and he made them easily. Was not busy at all and didn’t give possession away even once. We gave him a good rest today

Joao Cancelo-7.5 : Cancelo is always good offensively and has nailed his spot for sure as his defensive work has improved tremendously. Great assist for Ivan.

Milan Skriniar-7.5 : Didn’t give the ball away once. Played a lot of vertical passes. Battled with Zapata and Quagliarella and came out on top by far. Clone him please

Joao Miranda-6.5 : Not as good as his partner as he struggled with his passing and the fact that in the first half he was playing in a virtual pond on the left side.

Danilo D’Ambrosio-6.5 : Some great forays into Sampdoria’s half and could have scored with that headed corner as well. Defensively a beast as always. One of his best.

Robeto Gagliardini-7.5 : After games like these the rumoured €30 million fee seems like a steal. Gagliardini was at his best today. Great at both phases, calm on the ball

Marcelo Brozovic-7.5 : 2 absolutely top-drawer performances. Borja and Vecino will have to work very hard to get their spot back. Ran from the 1st minute till the end

Antonio Candreva-6 : Our poorest player today. Got one or two good crosses in but overall the quality is lacking. Missed a gilt edged chance. The intent isnt visible to us.

Rafinha-7 : Rafinha is getting fitter and is playing much better. Missed to easy chances but one of them was pounced on by Icardi. Delight to watch!

Ivan Perisic-7.5 : Beat his marker for fun. Scored a absolutely beautiful lobbed header. Ivan the terrible is gone. Ivan the marvellous has returned. Unstoppable

Mauro Icardi-10 : When he gets quality service, he scores for fun. Had he stayed on for 90 mins maybe would have got six. Each goal better than the previous

Eder-6.5 : Came on after the game was won. Ran as usual but didn’t get into the right positions or he could have bagged a goal today as well. Supersub

Matias Vecino-N/A : Not enough time to make an impact. Played the simple game and got his basics right. He has to fight for his spot in the 11 now.

Borja Valero-N/A : Just like Vecino will need to fight for his spot but tried a lot of good moves and controlled the midfield in his 10 minutes or so on the pitch

Luciano Spalletti-9 : The after-game comments last week seemed to have worked a treat. We passed the ball quickly, ruined a team that are no pushovers at home

Paolo Tagliavento-4 : Poor refereeing overall today. Let too many cards go for both teams and blew too many soft fouls. Penalty was rightfully awarded though.

Inter-8 : 3 clean sheets in a row, 2 points dropped in the last 9. 2 wins and a draw against Napoli is fantastic. Need to continue this after the break.

Agree with the ratings? Should Candreva be dropped? What can we do to ensure that our heads don’t drop again like after the Chievo win which was by the same margin? Let us know in the comments or over our social media
