Valencia owner Peter Lim has given club officials the green light to go ahead and redeem Geoffrey Kondogbia according to a report from Spanish news outlet SuperDeporte.

The French midfielder joined the Spanish outfit in the summer on loan with them having an option to turn the move in to a permanent one for €25 million.

Numerous meetings have taken place in recent weeks between Kondogbia’s representatives and Valencia officials and it is understood that Lim’s blessing was all that was missing. When Valencia will formalise the deal is as yet unknown however.

SuperDeporte also warn that Kondogbia could be out the door just as quickly as he get’s through it. Due to Valencia’s ongoing financial fair play problems, they could opt to sign him before selling him on for a profit to raise some much needed funds towards the €45 million they need. Some European clubs have been in contact with regard to possibly signing Kondogbia and there was also interest from China in the January transfer window.
