Spanish media outlet SuperDeporte reports that Daniel Perez, who is the agent of Geoffrey Kondogbia, has reiterated the intentions of the French player who is convinced that he wants to stay at Valencia. A conviction that will not be undermined even by a sudden change of course of Inter in case there are any other offers: “Inter can not break the agreements in any way. One of the things that was wanted to be certain, is that Valencia has control of the situation, and what the player wants is to get out from Inter.”

Perez adds that the purchase of Kondogbia “can be done even if Inter do not redeem Joao Cancelo. Geoffrey made a huge effort to leave the Nerazzurri and come to Valencia, and this does not involve Luciano Spalletti, the new Nerazzurri coach, he had nothing against him and tried to keep Kondogbia until the last day, but the boy had already chosen to go to Valencia and made an effort to do so, as Valencia tried until the last day to convince Inter. Also because it was very difficult to steal a player from a top club like Inter in the situation in which the club was, in the end, everything was agreed upon with the inclusion in the deal for Cancelo and making Inter understand that Valencia was the only option.

“The commitment shown by Kondogbia throughout the year has not changed at all, but increased because things went so well that now he wants nothing more than to play in the Champions League with Valencia. The contract was lowered to play with Valencia, the offers from the Premier League were higher than what he earned at Inter, whilst at Valencia he earns less than he earned at Inter: the economic effort has been great. But he wanted to go back to having fun playing football, playing for a team that could do great things and live in a big city. And there are not many cities like Valencia. He was already clear that he did not want to go to the Premier League, so we did not listen to other offers aside from Valencia, whom he could have joined in January 2017, when we talked with the then Sporting Director, Garcia Pitarch during the Inter vs Milan derby; but it was this summer that Kondo understood that his experience in Italy was over” Perez concludes.
