Pirelli CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera spoke on Gr Parlamento show ‘La Politica nel Pallone’ and firstly spoke on Inter’s owners, the Suning Group and former owner Massimo Moratti.
“For their [Suning] part, there is a commitment. Steven Zhang is familiar with the world of football and deserves to be trusted. The whole Zhang family knows the importance of Inter and knows the passion Massimo Moratti gave the club. I hope they are up to the responsibility they have assumed. I hope Moratti does not return because he has a more serene life now, despite every Nerazzurri fan wishing for him to return.”
Tronchetti Provera then discussed the long standing relationship between Pirelli and the club.
“We continue to be a sponsor. We ask that the club and the team continue to show their closeness to the fans. The crowded stadium is not to be betrayed, and I hope the club goes in the right direction.”
Inter have endured a tough spell but things look to be on the up again and Tronchetti Provera concluded the interview by praising Inter manager Luciano Spalletti and midfielder Rafinha.
“Spalletti is good and Rafinha has given quality.”
