Suning Will Sign Strootman For Spalletti If Inter Make Champions League

Should Inter manage to qualify for next season’s Champions League, manager Luciano Spalletti will be rewarded by Inter’s owners Suning according to a report from Tuttosport.

The Turin based newspaper report that alongside a new and improved contract, Suning will give Spalletti a re-union with a player he formerly managed at Roma in Kevin Strootman.

The Dutch midfielder has a €45 million release clause in his contract making him a somewhat simpler target over other players currently linked to Inter such as Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal due to his fixed price.

Strootman appears to have put a few years of injury hell behind him, playing no less than 34 games across all competitions for the Giallorossi this season, scoring once and helping assist once also.

The 28-year-old has been linked to Inter for quite some time and was subject to interest in the summer but Inter could not find a deal with Roma at the time.
